Adds 170 New Jobs, Opens Global Bangalore Office, Expands Solutions to 120 Countries and Enters Healthcare Market

SAN JOSE, Calif.- July 19, 2022 – Kami Vision, the computer vision company that provides artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to SMBs and consumers, announced today the company has grown 350 percent since its launch in August 2020. The growth is spurred by its entrance into the healthcare market and increased demand for AI services in the security and safety industry. In response, Kami Vision has created 170 new jobs globally, expanded to 120 countries and opened a new office in Bangalore, India – all to continue to provide cost effective AI services that keep people safe and secure.

“We are seeing a steadily increasing market demand for safety and security technology solutions, especially in healthcare and senior living as organizations prioritize staff retention, patient safety and bed utilization,” said Yamin Durrani, CEO of Kami Vision. “Thanks to computer vision innovation, we’re building a sustainable business that will continue to flourish, despite economic factors, by delivering essential services that are hardware agnostic and easily scalable.”

Kami Vision’s new Bangalore location is its third global office after San Jose, California and Shanghai, China. It hosts more than 40 employees, primarily engineers focused on research and development (R&D) in artificial intelligence, video management cloud solutions, innovative user interface (UI) and mobile apps for vertical markets.
With more than 100 new jobs expected to be added in the Bangalore office over the next two years, Kami Vision is attracting top engineering talent and helping address India’s challenges with unemployment, job quality and income quality. Developers and STEM innovators who join Kami will be presented with a welcome challenge: Elevate cutting-edge computer vision technology to improve millions of lives.

“As we sustainably scale Kami Vision Bangalore, we will add the world’s most imaginative technical minds to our team who will find a career-defining opportunity to shape the future of vision AI,” said Dr. Ajay Gulati, CTO of Kami Vision. “The R&D coming out of the Bangalore office is exceptional and the culture supports personal growth and innovation. We will continue to build on this momentum as we add top AI engineers, backend developers, app and front-end developers.”

The Bangalore team will contribute to growing the company’s flagship product, KamiCare, a fall detection solution that optimizes caregiving with automation and artificial intelligence. Designed for senior living facilities, KamiCare detects falls with 99.9 percent accuracy and alerts caregivers and family members instantly. KamiCare sensors with artificial intelligence and advanced computer vision are able to detect body postures that indicate if an elderly person falls.

Kami Vision has experienced significant growth in 2022. In March, the company introduced the Kami AI Platform and a number of associated product innovations. The platform supports multiple AI use cases in a unified manner and will help the company quickly launch new products and efficiently scale its product portfolio. In May, Kami Vision announced a funding round of $10 million from East West Bank. This is the company’s latest move to build upon its success in deep-learning computer vision across both the B2B and B2C markets.
