Get in TouchSAN JOSE, Calif.- June 07, 2022 – Kami Vision, the computer vision company that provides artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to SMBs and consumers, announced today it has raised $10 million in new funds.
Kami Vision’s first funding round, comprising $10 million in financing by East West Bank, is the company’s latest move to build upon its success in deep-learning computer vision across both the B2B and B2C markets.
“We are emboldened by the market’s reaction to our approach to video technology,” said Yamin Durrani, CEO of Kami Vision. “We’re committed to making intelligent computer vision AI technology accessible to customers who require high-quality video surveillance that goes beyond passive recording.”
Kami Vision’s approach to deep-learning computer vision is simple in its complexity, building on the premise that today’s AI and video technologies allow a camera to gain advanced understanding from digital images and videos and be a substitute for the human eye and brain. This allows for a diverse range of use cases where computers can now perform what previously required a human/human intelligence. Examples of computer vision helping in commercial applications include counting the number of cars in a parking lot, monitoring foot traffic in a retail store, detecting falls in a senior care facility, and spotting defective products on a production line.
Kami Vision is one of the largest computer vision companies many people may not have heard about before. Its market presence is solid, with its software powering 12 million cameras across the globe and more than 5 million active users in 100+ countries, including Fortune 100 companies.
Two key growth areas for Kami Vision are the eldercare and VMS (Video Management System) markets. Kami Vision introduced KamiCare, its new fall detection and management solution, a few weeks ago at the Argentum Conference. KamiCare detects falls with higher than 99.9% accuracy and quickly alerts caregivers and family members. For SMBs, the Kami Core Platform is device-agnostic, affordable, customizable and offers enterprise-grade out-of-the-box industry specific AI applications at a cost-point and efficiency level previously unattainable.
It’s been a busy year for Kami Vision. In March, the company unveiled four new technologies at the International Security Conference & Exposition (ISC West) in Las Vegas, Nevada, including, Video Verification, the Kami Cloud VMS, and Person, Vehicle and Animal detection. Within Kami Core, these new technologies can take into account multiple dynamic factors in the blink of an eye and provide the best management possible for the video assets you own.
Over the past 12 months, Kami Vision has nearly doubled its headcount to 125 people from 10 different countries and is expected to add even more people to its roster this quarter.
